2022 has been a busy year here at Gen10, with us welcoming several new clients and colleagues, as well as rolling out some large updates across our product suite. It has also been the first year back to a full schedule of in-person events following the abatement of the Covid-19 pandemic in the UK and Europe.

Our calendar included several trade association and industry events where you might have caught us, including the ICA Conference, the World Aluminium Conference and E-world.

We also had members of the Gen10 team sharing their knowledge and expertise at a wide range of in-person and online events. If you missed these events at the time, now is the perfect opportunity to catch up using the recordings below.

The Insider’s Guide to Energy

The year started with CEO Richard Williamson appearing on The Insider’s Guide to Energy podcast. Here he collaborated with other ETRM providers to help listeners understand the benefits of cloud ETRM and explained the advantages of a comprehensive commodity management system.

Commodity Trading Week

The next major events in the calendar were the two Commodity Trading Weeks in London and Houston. Richard was joined by Gen10’s Bruce Tozer and their sessions were particularly focused on the energy transition. The discussions included ESG and Climate Change – The risk manager’s perspective as well as Trading the Transition – Maximising opportunities in carbon and other ESG linked markets. Check out our summary for links to the full recordings, as well as a quick overview if you are pressed for time.

Webinars

Carrying on the climate theme, Richard also made an appearance in the webinar series ESG and the Path to Net Zero where he joined a panel session discussing the technologies driving the journey to net zero. This session is particularly relevant if your organisation is considering engaging in carbon markets to meet your carbon goals.

And as part of this series, Bruce discussed whether carbon markets are still fulfilling their original role of helping to decarbonise the world. Again, we have included a short overview of the main points from the conversation as well as the full session videos.

Jumping ahead to October, we returned to the CTRM conversation when Richard appeared at the DigiCom webinar series exploring commodity trade digitalisation. Richard joined several other industry experts to discuss CTRMs in exceptional times – friend or foe? The discussion included what you should expect from your CTRM software, cloud vs on-site hosting and how to ensure the most appropriate system architecture for your business.

Energy Trading Week

Our final recordings of the year come from another Trans-Atlantic series. Energy Trading Week took place in-person in London, followed shortly after by the new Energy Trading Week Americas in Houston. Bruce  was again present at the London event to discuss carbon markets.

And Richard joined panel sessions at both events on a range of different topics covering the full range of carbon and commodity management challenges that Gen10 are helping our clients address. Recordings of these sessions are all available on the event website:

As we come to the end of 2022, it’s a great time to reflect on the last year, including the lessons we learned at conferences. Taking the time now to assess what has gone well and what we can learn from others sets us up for a strong start to the new year and a successful 2023.
