Energy Trading Week Middle East: Get the Most From Two Days in Dubai

25 August 2026

Energy Trading Week Middle East is just one week away. With eight different content tracks and a packed networking schedule, there's no way to fit it all in, so we recommend exploring the agenda before you arrive in Dubai.

We particularly recommend the Energy Trading Digitalisation stream, running across both days, where Richard Williamson, Gen10 CEO, will be making several appearances.

Wednesday 2 September: the data challenge that remains at the heart of operational success

Richard will be moderating Breaking down silos: Building a unified data culture for smarter trading decisions at 16:45, with panellists from mining, procurement, compliance and energy trading technology.

Creating a unified data environment has come up as a top priority at almost every ETW and CTW event of the last few years. The fact that it's still unresolved for many trading businesses shows what a challenging problem it really is. But it's also exactly the problem CommOS and NaNi exist to solve: get to a single source of truth and human decision-making speeds up, errors go down, and AI has something reliable to work from.

Richard has spent 25 years building commodity technologies around that principle, which makes him well-qualified to guide the conversation about how to make meaningful progress in your own organisation.

Thursday 3 September: the same thread, one layer down

At 10:30, Richard joins the panel Digitising the energy supply chain: From data to decisions. Where Wednesday's session focuses on the organisational barriers to better data, this session gets into the operational detail: how AI can optimise cargo movement and inventory, streamlining documentation and invoicing, and connecting disparate systems for end-to-end visibility. Richard will be able to draw on a wide range of examples of how our clients have solved each of these problems using CommOS.

Moderating one session and joining the panel for the other means Richard covers the same argument at two altitudes, from the organisational culture question on Wednesday down to the operational reality on Thursday.

Other streams to explore

As we mentioned above, Energy Trading Digitalisation is only one of the eight conference streams, covering risk, finance, procurement and more. A few sessions in particular stand out to us: Risk in the Boardroom, which covers markets, strategy and digitalisation; Digitalising Trade Finance, which runs into the same data problem again, but with the added complexity of collaborating across companies; and sessions on supply chain risk and people risk. The latter is close to a theme the Gen10 team are passionate about: giving people the tools to get up to speed faster and act with more independence, without losing the guardrails that keep decisions safe.

Stick around for the closing plenary

The conference closes with an interactive session asking What's keeping energy trading professionals up at night? Join one of the table discussions on issues in technology, compliance, risk and market developments. After two rounds of discussion, the panellists will return to the stage to share your insights with the room. Expect topics to include credit risk, counterparty compliance, agentic AI, and how legacy systems and newer add-ons are meant to work together.

Make a demo part of your agenda

Richard and Brett Anderhub will be on the Gen10 stand for both days when they're not on stage, but the two days fill up fast once the sessions start. And whilst we will be showing both CommOS and NaNi on the Gen10 stand, if you book a slot with us in advance, we can put together a personalised demo built around your own trading scenarios.
